COgnitive Behavioural Therapy for Dissociative (Non-Epileptic) Seizures
A Randomised Controlled Trial

We collected initial information about patients who have a diagnosis of dissociative seizures from their neurologist and asked them to keep a record of how often they have their seizures following diagnosis.
Three months after the diagnosis, those who agreed to take part in the study were seen by a psychiatrist, who completed a psychiatric assessment.
Patients who continued to have Dissociative Seizures in the previous 8 weeks were randomly allocated to standardised medical care or CBT (plus standardised medical care) as further treatment for their seizures.
